One of the most prominent voices in European event education and practice joins the run.events Advisory Board, bringing decades of industry authority and academic leadership to the platform’s customers and product strategy.

run.events is proud to announce that Prof. Stefan Luppold has joined its Advisory Board. With this appointment, run.events gains one of the most respected and prolific experts in the European event industry, whose reputation and insight give the platform a significant strategic advantage.

Prof. Luppold is Professor at DHBW Ravensburg (Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University), where he teaches in the degree programme “BWL – Messe-, Kongress- und Eventmanagement” (Business Administration: Trade Fair, Congress and Event Management), a programme he led for twelve years. Before his academic career, he spent nearly two decades working in the event and trade fair industry across Germany, several European countries, and South Africa. He has authored and edited more than 30 specialist books, several of which are considered standard references across the German-speaking event industry. He is widely recognised as a thought leader on hybrid event formats, one of the defining trends shaping the industry today. Few people in this field carry the same combination of hands-on experience, academic depth, and publishing authority.

A Strategic Advantage for run.events and Its Customers

Prof. Luppold’s decision to join the run.events Advisory Board is a strong signal of confidence in the platform’s direction. His presence strengthens the board with a prolific reputation and a depth of knowledge that directly benefits both the product and the people who use it.

“Stefan Luppold is one of the most influential voices in our industry, and his understanding of hybrid events, which are defining the future of how we meet, is unmatched. What excites us most is the combination of his deep event industry knowledge and his perspective on AI. Together, we can extend our platform and develop it in the direction the industry truly needs.” – Adis Jugo, CEO, run.events

For run.events customers, this means product development guided by someone whose deep knowledge of the event industry, combined with his perspective on AI and technology, will help the platform extend its capabilities and evolve in the right direction. As hybrid events become the prevailing format across congresses, trade fairs, and corporate programmes, Prof. Luppold’s thought leadership in exactly this space ensures that run.events builds tools grounded in what organisers and audiences actually need. For the broader event community, having a figure of Prof. Luppold’s stature advise a technology platform signals that the conversation between event methodology and event technology is maturing. run.events is committed to building tools that reflect the standards and creativity that professionals and educators expect.

Prof. Luppold’s Role on the Advisory Board

In his advisory capacity, Prof. Luppold will provide strategic guidance on product development for trade fair, congress, and educational event formats. He will also support run.events in strengthening its connections to universities and the next generation of event professionals. Joint initiatives are already in planning, including case studies built on real event data from the platform and educational frameworks designed to help students and practitioners create smarter, more sustainable, and more engaging events.
